It's 1971; a time of political and social upheaval. Adam is a draft resistor on the run, striving for peace, regardless of the cost to himself. Pat is an aboriginal activist living in a community distrustful of whites. Rose and Cecilia form relationships with the men who inspire them politically, while at the same time trying to promote women's liberation on their campus; but as powerful conservative forces surge around them, choices must be confronted that will test the strength of their convictions.
