Edmund Hardy "Hedison" is driving home when he is forced to take a detour due to an accident. As he travels through some woods he has to brake harshly for a young girl played by Nina Francis who seems to be quite distressed. He agrees to give her a lift and she is anxious she is being followed and rather reluctant to get out of the car when they reach an inn. She "Annette" does enter the inn where a local mentions the name 'Logan' to her. Her and Hardy leave and drive on until the car breaks down. They are forced to stay at a quaint inn in the woods where all is not as it seems. Hardy calls his wife played by Jenifer Hilary to tell her he can't get home. He shares the only available room with Annette having kissed her earlier in the woods. In the morning he wakes to find her gone and the landlady Mrs. Farren (Isabel Dean)believes her bicycle has been taken by Annette. Annette is later found murdered. At first Mrs Farren's husband is a suspect and Edmund himself.
