Jacqueline McKenzie stars as Anna in this Paul Cox classic about the lead voice of a community choir, that's raising money for an upcoming trip to China. Her fund raising effort connects her with Edward, who makes a sizeable donation if she agrees to sit for him for a series of still-life drawings. As Anna is drawn more into Edward's life, their relationship causes problems at home for Anna, who lives with David , a frustrated artist who is struggling for inspiration. The young couple agree to take time for a holiday, hoping to get their relationship back on track. When she thinks the time is right, Anna make a confession to David about things that happened to her during her time with the elderly Edward. These are things that he does not want to hear.
